James Boyd 

James Boyd was born about 1755 in Scotland. He died May 1828 in Somerset County, PA. James served in Capt. Thomas Payton’s Company of Rangers in Bedford County, PA.

James Boyd married Anna Maria Youler, 03 August 1790, in Bedford, now Somerset County, PA. She was born about 1773 in Germany and died about 1813 in Somerset County, PA.  She was the daughter of Isaac and Ann (?) Youler.

James Boyd later married Catherine (Engle) Smith, daughter of Peter and Barbara (Garletts) Engle.

James Boyd’s grave has not been found. He should be buried near Salisbury, Somerset County, or in Greenville Twp., Somerset County, PA.

Historical Note: Only the children from the second marriage were named in James’ will.
