Henry Ash II

Henry Ash, II, also known as Henry Ash, Sr.  (Henry Ash, I, and Henry Ash, II, were both known as Sr.  The name Henry was used a lot in the Ash Family.) Henry’s parents were Henry and Catherine (?) Ash. He was born about 1760 in Germany or Maryland. He died 20 March 1849 in Somerset County, PA, near the village of Allendale, Jefferson Township, Somerset County, PA. Henry was a Private in Capt. James Lang’s Company, Art. B, Philadelphia County Militia, and also Capt. Jonathon Pain’s Company, and Capt. John Peter’s 18th Company, 3rd Battalion, Philadelphia City Militia.

Henry married Barbara Miller about 1784 in Somerset (then Bedford) County, PA. Barbara was born about 1765 in York County, PA and died after 1849 in Somerset County, PA. Barbara’s parents were John Solomon and Maria Eva (Hiller) Miller. Henry and Barbara are buried on their homestead farm cemetery in the village of Allenvale, Jefferson Township, Somerset County, PA.

Henry Ash I or Sr. (P-104896) and Catherine (?) Ash are both buried in Washington County, Maryland.
